The Nexus 2 is CORE’s Swiss army knife. It performs well at big air, foiling, wave-riding and unhooked riding.
What we like
It does everything! If you’re looking for a multi-tool to take on your kite trip, this is a great kite to reduce the quiver of wave kites and big air kites to just Nexus 2’s.
What we don’t like
Being a multi-tool, there are some compromises. It’s a jack-of-all-trades, but master of none.
Jump report
The Nexus 2 jumps well, although it doesn’t offer the same ease-of-use for big air as the XR6. You need precise input in your steering and takeoff technique to get the most out of this kite.
Loop report
Competing big air riders, such as Steven Akkersdijk, Maarten Haeger and Eric Plancon have demonstrated how well this kite loops, particularly the 10m on shorter lines (20 or 22m).
Quality report
The only flaw we have found with the Nexus 2 is that the pigtails on the kite wear out a bit faster than we would like. To avoid this, we recommend you make sure there is no sand between the knots when securing them.
